Just a Regular Kid is in production with CBC television. This one-hour documentary explores the experience of being Muslim in the West today through the wide eyes of those still forming what it means to be a person in the world. Following students in their final year at a private, Islamic elementary school, Just A Regular Kid captures what it means to be young, Muslim and Canadian at this unsettling time in modern history.
Key Crew: Director Wendy Rowland is a documentary filmmaker and editor who got her start with the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) and has gone on to work with TVO, CBC and CTV - focusing primarily on health and social-issue documentaries. Associate Producer Aeyliya Husain is a documentary director who also got her start with the NFB, and has worked on a number of social issue documentaries with her most recent film premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2017.
